Brasov is renowned for its medieval air. If the city is known, the county still has many puzzles to discover. The most beautiful places in Brasov County are waiting to be discovered.

Râşnov Citadel The medieval fortresses built a few centuries ago are a real tourist attraction. Any visitor who arrives in Brasov County must not miss the fortifications. Râşnov Citadel is one of the most visited. It is a fortification from 1335, the city of Rasnov being one of Transylvania’s defense bastions. From June 1, tourists can climb the fortress with a rack, but also on foot on a gorgeous trail through the woods.

Another superb fortress is the Rupea Fortress. Rupea Fortress, ruined for several years, has been remodeled and now looks sensational. The road leading to Sighisoara is perfectly seen from DN 13. It is easy to reach, there is a road like in the palm, but also parking for tourists.

Făgăraş Fortress is also a fortification that is one of the most beautiful places in Brasov County. It has a history of more than 600 years, it was the place of medieval balls in the time of Mihai Viteazu, but also a fearful communist jail. The entrance to the citadel in the county costs 10 lei.

Do not miss the Fortified Church in Prejmer, a building with a superb architecture and the only one in the county that is rated with three stars in the Michelin Guide. The Fortified Church of Prejmer (photo below) was also visited in the past by Prince Charles of Wales.

Bran Castle, also called Dracula’s Castle, is a great attraction for tourists, being considered one of the most beautiful places in Brasov County. Aliens swear they found ghosts here and talked to vampires.
